Diving Overview
RomseySAC is a BSAC diving club that welcomes new and old members, qualified or non-qualified divers who wish to participate in scuba diving. RomseySAC is a collection of individuals the come together on a Tuesday for fitness, scuba training and to generally socialise. We typically dive at weekends and on holidays aboard.

Pool Session - 29 April
Up to 12 Explorers will be at the pool on Tuesday evening for a taste of diving. Paul S needs help to make it a success - please support where possible (see e-mail from Paul).
Diving - May Bank Holiday Weekends
Names to Paul please for those who want to dive over the May Bank Holiday weekends. Location likely to be Portland Harbour catering for all levels of experience (and to fully run in the RiB engine).
Diving - Porthkerris in July
Paul is planning to organise a diving trip to Porthkerris over a long weekend in July. Please let him know if you are interested. Remember it is an ideal time to encounter the Basking Shark.
Committee Meeting - 8 May
The next meeting is scheduled for the 8th May. If members would like any issues raised please let a committee member know in person or via e-mail.
Jobs on the RiB
Still to complete: correctly positioning the trailers port rollers, purchase new onboard fire extinguisher, fix sticky front brake piston on the trailer, need to align trim anode, prop evaluation running a full RiB and fit a tap to the fuel line. Please offer your assistance when possible.
BSAC Branch Development Workshop - 2nd April
Steven & Colin attended the branch development workshop with other representatives from BSAC clubs in the region. Key issues for clubs were discussed, SWOT analysis performed and action plans discussed. Ultimately it is up to the club but interesting discussions around training and diving collaboration was discussed in detail. The other main topic being attracting new members. Items from the workshop will be discussed at the next committee meeting.
Diving
Would all divers who have put there names down to dive Lundy in September please pay their £75 deposit directly to Eric.
Vacant Posts
Due to the departure of Murg & Shaz we have vacant posts for the Boat Officer and Membership Secretary. Please put your name forward to any member of the committee if you are interested in filling a post.
Chartplotter
We are now in possession of our new chartplotter the Lowrance 9200c.
Other Safety Equipment
A new battery for the McMurdo Fastfind EPIRB has been purchased and fitted. We now have a replacement handheld VHF radio - the Cobra.
Skittles Night 16th May
Eric has arranged a skittles evening for the club at Mortimers near Ower. We will be having our own buffet menu and a separate room and bar. At least 30 people are needed to make this a great evening out so bring friends and family - we still need to make up the numbers. The price is £15 per head and this includes some prizes for the highest scores on the night. We will need to collect full payment before the end of April to ensure we can fill the spaces. Please book and pay through Eric or Colin. Cheques payable to RSAC.
Seasearch
Clare H has kindly offered to organise a Seasearch course for the club in the Spring as discussed at the AGM. If you are interested please contact Clare directly.
