Dimensions
Romsey SAC hires a 1.5 hour weekly pool session from a local school; Stanbridge Earl's.
This is one of the deepest pool in the area and offers RomseySAC the ability to train at a depth of three metres in the deep end.
Stanbridge Earl's pool is a medium sized pool and RomseySAC is very fortunate to have these excellent facilities.
The pool is approximately 20 metres long by 6 metres wide. The depth ranges from 1.2 Metre to 3 Metres
Pool Usage
Romsey Sub-Aqua Club uses the pool for many things.
- Pool Scuba Training for new divers
- Skill reviews for existing divers
- Fitness training
- Rescue Training, e.g. AV, CPR, Rescue Towing/Landing
- Occasionally for pool-side lectures
Romsey Sub-Aqua club believes that a swimming pool is an important aspect of scuba diving. RomseySAC divers are encouraged to train in (and maintain) scuba disciplines; have a level of fitness commensurate with swimming in an off-shore tidal environment; and importantly, have the ability to rescue others if uncontrolled events happen.
